My name is Joy Morrissey.
I began my journey with the Conservative party as a grassroots activist and now, years later, I am the first woman to be shortlisted for the Conservative party's London Mayoral Candidacy.
I have a burning passion for social justice and have worked hard to put fairness at the heart of everything I do.
Now that I have this opportunity, I want to make a difference for the city I have chosen to make my home.
I have a simple plan for London:
Fix the housing market
Young people in London have grown cynical of our party because buying their first home seems out of reach and private renting is often blighted with short-term leases and unexpectedly high annual rent hikes.
As part of generation rent, I understand these problems and will work to ensure all Londoners have a home they can call their own.
Get tough on crime
Gangs are out of control and Londoners don't feel safe on their streets. It's time the Mayor enabled the Police to get on the front foot against criminals in London.
I will bring back the use of knife arches, and stop and search whilst working with frontline charities to intervene early and keep children out of gang culture.
Invest in our transport infrastructure
London is a growing city and the TfL budget needs to be managed responsibly to ensure we can continue to invest in vital upgrades.
I want to bring clean hybrid and electric buses to our city and ensure that vital land is unlocked by building a truly world-class transportation system.
Leave a positive legacy for the Conservatives in London
In order to win in 2020, we need to build our capacity on the ground, train up our activists, and recruit new ones.
I will lead a campaign that both builds our capacity and strengthens the Conservative brand in London, by working alongside the Boroughs and Associations that have long been ignored in London wide campaigns.
I am proud to have received the endorsement of so many leading figures in the Conservative Party including Cllr. Ray Puddifoot, Stephen Hammond MP, Steve Norris the twice candidate for Mayor of London, Guy Opperman MP, Andrew Rosindell MP, Nicky Morgan MP and Baroness Jenkin.
